Bright Curse Release New Music Video

British heavy psych/stoner rock trio, Bright Curse have released their first music video for opening track of their debut full-length album, Before the Curse, released in May of 2016.

The video for "Lady Freedom" has a distinct theme, as the band explains:

[G]uitarist and singer Romain Daut explains "I started riding and following the custom motorcycle scene a couple of years ago and discovered some of the best people in the world; some of the most badass women – and that's what I wanted in this short film; amazing ladies saving our asses! With the help of Kingdom of Kicks in Hackney and Our Black Heart in Camden, we found those girls!"

The album is available for purchase on digital, CD, and vinyl. You can buy it directly from the band on, where else, Bandcamp. The video and Bandcamp widget are available after the jump.

Hump Day Freebie: HighGüey – HighGüey

hump-day-freeb
You’ve made it through half of the work week! For that reason, you deserve a reward. What better way to reward yourself than with a new album? Better yet, a FREE album. That ought to make up for your week so far. Okay, maybe not, but it does make the pill easier to swallow, even if only slightly.

Today’s freebie is: HighGüey's self-titled debut, HighGüey.

HighGüey is an instrumental, heavy psych, stoner, doom band from Columbia. Their EP (well, LP, depending on your definition) is a showcase of the band's chops as they go to fuzzy and psychedelic stoner rock to doom metal, and then to a jammy, fuzzy psychedelic track that takes you on a 17 minute bender.

Yet another one of the albums that I was fortunate enough to stumble upon earlier this year. The EP satisfies a lot of tastes, and it gives you a great idea of what the band is capable of, and it's far from disappointing.

Dig in; after all, it's a completely free download. Though, they do you have you sign up for the mailing list to get the album.

Hump Day Freebie: Twin Speak – Twin Speak

Today’s freebie is: Twin Speak's debut album, Twin Speak.

This was one of my better discoveries during my binge earlier this year. Twin Speak describes themselves as "[w]aves of noise, doomy riffs; tube amplifiers on the verge of destruction give way to a flood of toms give way to the smashing of cymbals gives way to wah-wah guitar solo gives way to sparking Fender tones and reverb for days." I'd say that's accurate. The album is a great one to veg out to, relax, and take a load off. Best served with a comfy chair and a beer in hand.
