Hump Day Freebie: Trash Titan – Trash Titan (the lost album)

hump-day-freeb
You’ve made it through half of the work week! For that reason, you deserve a reward. What better way to reward yourself than with a new album? Better yet, a FREE album. That ought to make up for your week so far. Okay, maybe not, but it does make the pill easier to swallow, even if only slightly.

Today's freebie is: Trash Titan's Trash Titan.

For the second week, I'm giving you long-lost albums that have been found. What can I say? These albums age like fine wine!

If you don't know Trash Titan, then you should get to know them. Right now would be a good time, too. Well, after you finish this post. They play some fuzzy, whiskey-soaked rock. Not convincing enough? The band describes their lost album's sound as better than I can:

Picture the Black Keys getting anally violated by Black Sabbath while Howlin' Wolf guzzles Everclear cut with swamp sludge and you're in the AAA ball park.

Yeah. If that doesn't sell the album to you then I don't know what could. Okay, now you can have at it.

Review: Child – Blueside

Child - BluesideChild. You should be well aware of who these gents are. The band put out a brilliant, eponymous debut album back in 2014. It caught on like wildfire and for good reason, and several blogs were placing the album on their end of the year lists. Well, this trio of Aussie fuzzy-blues rockers are back with their second effort, Blueside.

Spoiler alert: the Child is growing up, and he's experienced some things. Continue reading Review: Child – Blueside

Review: Elbrus – Elbrus

Elbrus - ElbrusGoing through emails is always a mundane task, and it's one that I can't get great enjoyment out of it. There are exceptions, of course; I always pay attention when I see something from Kozmik Artifactz. When I saw the email about Elbrus signing with them to release their debut album, I immediately opened it to see the description of the band and then flagged it for follow-up.

Thanks to "The Huntsman", I was quickly convinced into listening the album a bit sooner than intended. I ended up kicking myself a little for even taking that long to listen to Elbrus. Continue reading Review: Elbrus – Elbrus

Bright Curse Release New Music Video

British heavy psych/stoner rock trio, Bright Curse have released their first music video for opening track of their debut full-length album, Before the Curse, released in May of 2016.

The video for "Lady Freedom" has a distinct theme, as the band explains:

[G]uitarist and singer Romain Daut explains "I started riding and following the custom motorcycle scene a couple of years ago and discovered some of the best people in the world; some of the most badass women – and that's what I wanted in this short film; amazing ladies saving our asses! With the help of Kingdom of Kicks in Hackney and Our Black Heart in Camden, we found those girls!"

The album is available for purchase on digital, CD, and vinyl. You can buy it directly from the band on, where else, Bandcamp. The video and Bandcamp widget are available after the jump.

Review: Buddha Sentenza – Semaphora

buddha sentenza - semaphoraAs much as I enjoy instrumental rock (I do), a common issue tends to hold back my enthusiasm. Yes, that one. There always seems to be a general theme that all the tracks on an album are the same. The repetitiveness gets old and fast. As a result, I don't seek out instrumental music as a whole.

I think you know where I'm going with this, of course, there are exceptions to this. For me, the latest from Buddha SentenzaSemaphora, is one of these exceptions. Continue reading Review: Buddha Sentenza – Semaphora

Hump Day Freebie: Broken Clown – Houses of the Homely

hump-day-freeb
You’ve made it through half of the work week! For that reason, you deserve a reward. What better way to reward yourself than with a new album? Better yet, a FREE album. That ought to make up for your week so far. Okay, maybe not, but it does make the pill easier to swallow, even if only slightly.

Today’s freebie is: Broken Clown's Houses of the Homely.

Haven't heard of Broken Clown? Well, that's not surprising. The band is defunct, but they are just now releasing their first full-length. The album had begun recording back in 2001 but the band broke up in 2002 before the album had been finished. Fast forward 14 years and the original masters, the masters have been found, and the album is now complete and available for consumption. Is this the literal definition of an "instant classic"?

The band's sound is classic, early stoner rock from the 90s and 00s. There's plenty of heavy metal and grunge rock mixed in as to be expected. No real surprises here, just good, kickass heavy rock and roll from beginning to end.

The album is currently available for digital download through their Bandcamp, widget below.

Review: Wired Mind – mindstate:dreamscape

I'm no stranger to psychedelic stoner rock. I've been known to obsess over a good heavy psychedelic album drenched in fuzz. It shouldn't be any surprise, then, that I'm always looking to find the next band that can satisfy the itch.

It's always nice when that comes to you, however. That's what happened with Wired Mind, a 3 piece from Germany. It's always the Germans, isn't it?
